It has a 350-seat theatre and two art galleries. It produces an extensive range of artistic activity, attracting the best international and national artists from music, drama, dance and national touring comedy to non professional shows put on by local community groups.
The Sage
The Sage at Gateshead is an international home for music and musical discovery, bringing about a widespread and long-term enrichment of the musical life of the North East of England. Performances for all tastes – popular, jazz, world, classical, dance, brass bands, experimental, folk and traditional and more. There are concerts at different times of day – in the evening, late at night, mornings, and at lunch time. Concert tickets are available from £7 for most performances and can be booked online.
Forum Cinema
This nearby cinema always gets rave reviews from our guests. The Forum cinema is located in Hexham and run by the Hexham Country Partnership. It has an art-deco appearance and feels like it's a step back in time. The seats are very comfortable, and it has a relaxing atmosphere. It shows most top films, but only has the one screen. Drinks are allowed in the auditorium, and some say that they sell the best popcorn in the UK!
