At
Fairshaw Rigg Bed & Breakfast you will receive a warm welcome and be able to relax and
enjoy the comfortable and tranquil environment we have created for our
guests. A barn conversion, on the edge of the pretty village of Lowgate,
the property is surrounded by stunning countryside. The quaint village
of Corbridge is just 10 minutes away and historic Hexham is closer still.
For further cultural activities both Newcastle and Carlisle are within
easy travelling distance by road or rail. Click

Places to see...
If
you enjoy visiting places of historic interest or natural beauty, then
Fairshaw Rigg B&B is a perfect base. There are many National Trust and English
Heritage sites as well as the Northumberland National Park. For walkers
the North Pennines are right on our doorstep.
Of course a visit to the region wouldn't be complete without a trip
to Hadrian's Wall National Trail, where you will be sure to be inspired
by the wild beauty of the surrounding countryside and the historical
presence of the wall and it's Roman sites. You can see a map of the Hadrian's Wall National Trail by clicking here.
Our Alpacas...
At Fairshaw Rigg we have a small herd of black Alpacas (pictured left). The Huacaya Alpacas live happily in a field close to the bed & breakfast. Any visitors will be able to see them grazing from the window. These peaceful animals are part of the South American Camelid family and are cousins of the llama. They have a very gentle disposition and have been domesticated in their native Andes for thousands of years where their fibre has always been highly valued. We are currently growing the Alpaca Herd. We had one new arrival, a black male named Prince, in 2007 and two more cria are due in May and August this year.
